Our Requirements:
Academic Achievement: For pre-university scholarships, a minimum of 8As in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent “O” level based on trial or actual results for 2005. Applicants who wish to pursue tertiary scholarships, a minimum of 4As and 1B in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM), or 2As and 1B for A-Level students.
Extra-curriculum Activities: Active in co-curricular activities in school or within the community. Visible interpersonal ability as well as the leadership skills. Possess dynamic and independent personality
Age: Applicants must be 19 years of age or below
Field of Studies: law, economics, finance, business administration, international securities, investment, accounting, Islamic securities, and banking.
Scholarship Value: SC Scholarship covers full academic fees, books, maintenance/subsistence allowances and other miscellaneous allowances
Provisional offers will be made to successful candidates subject to gaining acceptance into a recognised top institution/university and with an agreement to serve the SC for a stipulated period thereafter.
You must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 to receive a scholarship. If you fail to maintain a minimum semester GPA of 3.5 for two consecutive semesters for all courses taken, your scholarship award will be withdrawn. Any subsequent deficiency will result in the scholarship being withdrawn.

I think that SC requirement for STPM is quite unfair. It requires you to take 5 subjects and score 4As.
It’s not about the A’s amount they want but the subject amount requirement. Only small minority of STPM student all over Malaysia took 5 subjects and most of them are science streamer. I suppose many of them would like to pursue science courses such are medics and etc and certainly not economics or banking that are demanded by SC.
Maybe SC should be more realistic and and set their requirement like many private banks in this country. Most private banks that are offer scholarship demand less than SC. I’ve checked them out, mostly only require you to take minimum 4 subjects and get at least 2 or 3 A’s.
I have many friends who took 4 subjects only and yet still qualify for private banks scholarship. Many of them planned to pursuing economics, banking, accounting and etc. Hope that SC would like to consider to lower down a bit their requirement so more eligible students can qualify for the its scholarship

I am one of the SPM candidates,
so i want to ask something about the scholarship by SC scholarship that has been offered to public.
So if i get fantastic result in SPM, can i get the scholarship and futher my studies at overseas..?
I prefer engineering.. So, can i apply for it??

so, just to share some info,
SC is a body who regulates the Bursa Saham Malaysia..It works directly under the minister of finance.. so you must not compare SC with private banks..
nearly 70% of SC employees are lawyers and the rest are mostly accountants, economist, finance anaylist, acturist..that type of field.. so if ur planning to further ur studies in these courses, i recommend that u apply =)
