Student Loan Consolidation

Student loan consolidation is a fixed-rate student loan refinancing program that combines all of your existing federal student loans into one new loan. Consolidation is a great tool for managing your finances - providing lower monthly payments and long term benefits.

Student Loan Consolidation is a practical repayment tool that combines all of the student loans you received to finance your college education into one loan. When your new consolidation loan is issued, the lender pays off the outstanding balances for all your previous student loans. In essence, student loan consolidation is a refinancing tool for your education debt.

Refinancing can significantly reduce your monthly payment burden by stretching your repayment period from the standard 10 years to up to 30 years, depending on how much you owe.

Only three candidates will be chosen and they will receive RM20,000 each to aid them in their proposed studies.

L’Oreal Malaysia corporate communications director Tay Ai Leen said: “We believe that research drives innovation if given the right support.

“A lot of firms provide scholarships but we want to provide support for young researchers.”

One of last year’s beneficiaries, Crystale Lim Siew Ying, advised those who were interested to be confident and just go for it.

“I was apprehensive about my research on fungus,” she said.

“But since my government funding was ending soon, I submitted my research.

“I was surprised and thankful to get L’Oreal’s funding.

“It couldn’t have come in a better time,” she added.
