UPM Graduate Fellowship

Universiti Putra Malaysia is pleased to announce that a new postgraduate fellowship programme – the UPM Graduate Fellowship – has been established for all postgraduate (Masters and PhD) programmes with thesis. Award of the fellowship shall commence in the 1^st Semester of the 2007/2008 academic session.

A. OBJECTIVE
The objective of the fellowship programme is to provide deserving students with the financial support to enable them to pursue their postgraduate education fulltime at UPM.

B. NUMBER OF FELLOWSHIPS
More than 500 fellowships are available, and considerations for the award of the fellowship shall be based on merit.

C. PROVISIONS OF FELLOWSHIP
Successful applicants shall be exempted from paying tuition fee, and they shall also receive a monthly allowance amounting to RM1,500 for a PhD programme and RM 1,300 for a Master programme.

D. DURATION OF FELLOWSHIP
- PhD programme: Maximum 6 semesters
- Master programme: Maximum 4 semesters

E. REQUIREMENTS

1. Application is open to all Malaysian and Non-Malaysian citizens who shall be pursuing their fulltime postgraduate studies (with thesis) at UPM.
2. Applicants intending to pursue their Masters degree must possess a Bachelor degree with good scholastic achievement, and a potential PhD candidate must already have a Masters degree. Those who are in the final stages of their current degree programme may also apply.
3. A successful applicant must not at any time during candidature be a recipient of any other financial support or scholarship/fellowship, and should not be engaged in any type of employment. Contravention of either shall result in termination of the Fellowship.
