The Prime Minister of Malaysia’s Melbourne Scholar Programme

Invitation for Applications
The University of Melbourne, under the patronage and with the consent of YAB the Prime Minister of Malaysia, invites applications for the above mentioned Scholarship. The Scholarship is for staff in the early stages of their academic career at a university in Malaysia who (i) show outstanding promise and leadership potential and (ii) wish to undertake a PhD in Science or Engineering at the University of Melbourne (Australia).

Universiti Malaysia Sarawak Scholarship

UNIMAS is pleased to announce that the university is offering a limited number of partial scholarships, which would be in the form of tuition fees exemption and free accomodation, for selected undergraduate students commencing their studies at the university in the 2007/2008 session.

Application for the scholarship is open to all new undergraduate students and selection will be based on the student’s academic excellence, and active participation in the university’s co-curriculla activities. The scholarship will be awarded to the successful students for the duration of their undergraduate studies in Unimas, provided they maintain their excellent performance.

Shell-Curtin Scholarship

Sarawak Shell and Curtin Malaysia are offering two Shell-Curtin Scholarships to academically outstanding students who do not have the financial means to pursue Bachelor of Engineering Degrees with Curtin Sarawak.

These scholarships are open to all Sarawakian and Sabahan Year 1 Engineering students who have obtained admission to pursue their studies at Curtin University of Technology, Sarawak Campus.

Skills Development Fund

The Skills Development Fund Division is entrusted to disburse loans from the Skills Development Fund to students pursuing technical and vocational courses in public and private training institutions. This Fund takes effect from 2nd January 2001. However, the loans are available only for courses accredited by the National Vocational Training Council which meet the requirement of the Malaysian Skill Certificate Level 1 to 5.

The loans will be given to Malaysian full time or part time students in public and private vocational and technical institutions. The maximum loan available will be RM5,000.00 per annum and will be for the duration of the accredited course. An administrative charge of four per cent per annum will be levied on the loan. The loan is repayable over a maximum period of 15 years. Repayment of the loan to the Fund has to commence six months after the completion of the course or when the borrower starts working, whichever is earlier. There must be two guarantors for the loan. The loan application forms can be downloaded from the Ministry’s website and from the Division (with a self addresses stamped [35 cent] size 165mm x 229mm envelope if by post) at the address given below:-
