Written on March 4, 2008 – 1:12 pm | by admin |

The Indian government has announced a scholarship programme for the children of persons of Indian origin and non-resident Indians.

The scholarships were offered for undergraduate, professional and general courses in India for the academic year 2008-2009.

However, the scholarships do not apply for medicine and medical-related courses.

The scholarship is 75 per cent of the institutional economic cost, which includes tuition and hostel fees and other charges, or US$3,600 (RM11,500), whichever is lesser.

Applicants must sit a common entrance test, which will held at the high commission on May 18.

Application forms can be downloaded from the Indian High Commission website. The forms must be sent to The Project Manager (SPDC), Educational Consultants India Limited (Ed. CIL), P&S Division Ed. CIL House-18A, Sector-16-A, Noida-201 301, Uttar Pradesh, India, not later than April 4.
