Winston Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd invites financially needy and academically deserving students to apply for its scholarship to pursue full time degree programmes at University Tunku Abdul Rahman in the following fields of study:

Field of Study

1. Engineering, 1 scholarship will be awarded (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Material & Manufacturing, Chemical)
2. Business Administration, 1 scholarship will be awarded

Eligibility

1. Citizen of Malaysia
2. Has obtained 3 As and a pass in General Paper in STPM or CGPA of at least 3.5 for Matriculation/ Diploma study or 3 As or equivalent for A Level/ Foundation studies or 8 As for UEC student
3. Has obtained CGPA of at least 3.5 for student that is currently pursuing the degree course
4. Household gross income is RM4,000 and below
5. Has obtained admission to University Tunku Abdul Rahman
6. Is not/ has not being bonded or receiving any form of financial assistance from any other organization
7. Willing to serve Winston Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd upon completion of studies
8. Medically fit
9. Possess strong leadership qualities, high scholastic achievements and notable participation in extra curricular (such as community service) and sporting activities
10. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and oral). Mandarin will be an advantage
11. Student whose brother or sister received Winston Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd scholarship will not be considered. One family only eligible for one scholarship

Value of Scholarship

1. Scholarship covers full tuition fees and living expenses
Engineering - RM 20,000 for 4 years
Business Administration - RM 18,000 for 3 years
2. Scholarship candidates, upon successful completion of their respective courses and graduation from the respective universities with the assistance of these scholarships shall be required to serve as an employee of Winston Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd or any of its subsidiaries for a minimum of 3 years

Application

1. Candidate may collect the application form from the Department of Student Affairs of UTAR

Completed forms with the relevant documents must be submitted to Department of Student Affairs not later than 15 June 2008. Only short-listed candidates will be called for interview.
