Introduction

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia is pleased to announce the Taiwan Scholarship Program 2010. This scholarship will allow 10 Malaysians to pursue a Bachelor, Master or Doctoral Degree of their choice at any university in Taiwan starting from September 2010.

Scholarship Value

Students will be paid a monthly allowance  of NT$25,000 (RM2,670) for a maximum of four years for undergraduate programmes, NT$30,000 (RM3,205) for a maximum of two years for the master’s programme, and NT$30,000 (RM3,205) for a maximum of three years for doctoral programmes.

Successful candidates can choose to take an additional pre-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Programme (LEP) for one year, with a monthly stipend of NT$25,000 (RM2,670).

The cost of tuition, board and lodging, books, medical insurance, air fare to Taiwan and other expenses need to be paid by the candidates themselves.

All candidates must apply to their chosen university in Taiwan for the degree programme or to university-affiliated Chinese language centres if they wish to do the LEP programme.

How To Apply

Applicants must submit these documents by March 31:

  • Completed application form
  • Photocopy of passport or other certificate of nationality
  • Photocopy of the highest-level diploma obtained, with grade transcript
  • Supporting materials (e.g. copies of application forms to language training centres or to universities/colleges in Taiwan)
  • At least one letter of recommendation
  • A biography
  • Other documents to prove outstanding performance.
