The Australian National University Malaysian Scholarship

The Australian National University (ANU) and The ANU Alumni Association Malaysia will offer scholarships to outstanding Malaysians for study in Australia at The Australian National University.

1. The ANU Alumni Association, Malaysia – One (1) Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship covers tuition fees and an annual stipend of A$10,000 for any Bachelor’s degree (including Honours and combined degrees). You should have completed upper secondary schooling.

2. The ANU Alumni Association, Malaysia – One (1) Doctor of Philosophy Scholarship

This scholarship covers tuition fees, stipend and allowances for three years. You should hold at least a First Class Honours degree or a Masters degree from a recognised University.

The scholarships are open only to Malaysian citizens who are normally resident in Malaysia. Application forms and further information are available from all IDP Education Australia offices. However, please return / submit the application forms only to IDP Education Australia’s head office, address as stated below.

Microsoft Scholarship Program

Microsoft offers four types of technical scholarships to current undergraduate students: General Scholarships, Women’s Scholarships, Underrepresented Minority Scholarships, and Scholarships for Students with Disabilities.

As a recipient of one of these scholarships, you’ll enjoy the benefits for one academic year. It covers up to 100 percent of your tuition as posted by the financial aid office of your university or college. Microsoft will make payments to the designated school, and they’re not transferable to other academic institutions. You may use the funds for tuition only—not for other costs listed on your bursar bill, such as room and board.You’ll also need to enroll and complete a salaried summer internship of 12 weeks or more at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Washington.

Microsoft encourages student populations currently underrepresented in the field of computer science to pursue technical degrees. All candidates (regardless of citizenship) who meet the criteria for eligibility described below may apply.

Eligibility
Enrol full time in a Bachelor’s degree program at a college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico at the time you submit the application.

Make satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline such as electrical engineering, math, or physics—and that you demonstrate an interest in computer science.

Maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0, or a 4.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 5.0.

You must include the following four items in your application:

•     Transcript
•     Answers to essay questions
•     Letter of referral

Use one page total (not one page per question) to answer all four of the following questions:

•     Describe how you demonstrate your passion for technology outside the classroom.
•     Describe the toughest technical problem you’ve worked on, how you addressed the problem, your role in reaching the outcome if it was team-based, and the final outcome.
•     Describe a situation that demonstrates initiative and your willingness to go above and beyond.
•     Describe how you are currently funding your college education.

Letter of Referral

Enclose a letter of referral from a faculty member (professor or teaching assistant) or an academic adviser.

Perdana Scholarship 2007/2008 Session

Program Pertukaran Fellowship Perdana Menteri Malaysia (“The Prime Minister’s Fellowship Exchange Programme Malaysia”) (“Programme”) is an institution established with the main objective of promoting educational excellence among Malaysians, in line with the Government’s aspiration to achieve Vision 2020. One of the main activities of the Programme is the granting of Perdana scholarship to qualified Malaysians.

The scholarship is open to qualified Malaysians who have obtained admission to Masters or Doctoral programmes in all fields of studies, with emphasis on science and technology, at renowned universities for the 2007/2008 academic year.

The Perdana Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship in Malaysia offering outstanding scholarship packages to successful applicants. Successful applicants are not required to serve the Programme, but are required to serve in Malaysia or for a worthy Malaysian cause upon the completion of their studies, in the service of nation building and Vision 2020.

ISIS, as the administrator of the Perdana Scholarship, hereby invites applications for the Perdana Scholarship.

Eligibility

  • Applicants for the Masters Programme must have a first class honours degree or its equivalent.
  • Applicants for the Ph.D. programme must have a good Masters degree.
  • Applicants for the Masters programme must not be more than 35 years old, and those for the Ph.D. programme must not than 40 years old, as at 1st July 2007.
  • Applicants must be persons of exceptional caliber and character.
  • Applications must be made on the Perdana Scholarship Application Form which can be obtained from the address above.

University of Bedfordshire

The University offers scholarships for Malaysian students of high academic standing commencing their studies at the University of Bedfordshire.

To be eligible for the International Scholarships, applicants must be a Malaysian national or permanently domiciled in Malaysia,  must have applied for a course of study and hold an unconditional offer for a course at the University of Bedfordshire. The International Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit.

If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you will need to apply. Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at the University of Bedfordshire.

Please note that you can only be awarded ONE University of Bedfordshire scholarship.

The International Students’ Scholarship Scheme is funded by the University directly and aims to provide financial assistance to students from overseas who are applying to study at the University of Bedfordshire.

AMCHAM-MACEE Scholarship

AMCHAM created a scholarship endowment program in 1998 to benefit deserving Malaysian students seeking to pursue their undergraduate studies in the United States. In conjunction with the Malaysian American Commission on Educational Exchance (MACEE), the AMCHAM-MACEE Scholarship annually awards a US$20,000 scholarship, covering four years of undergraduate study in the United States.

Monash University - Malaysia Scholarship

Monash University Malaysia awards two types of scholarships to students, under three different categories.

  1. Entrance Scholarships :- New students who meet the stated minimum achievement scores are eligible to apply for the Entrance Scholarships. The Entrance Scholarships are divided into three categories.
  2. Merit Scholarships :- After each completed year of study (two continuous semesters), full load students who have not previously failed in any unit and achieved a high distinction average, are eligible to apply for a Merit Scholarship

The value of each scholarship is a percentage reduction in the tuition fees only. An application form needs to be completed and submitted together with the relevant documents, before the scholarship is awarded. Students who are eligible but who fail to apply for the scholarships will not be considered. The application closing date is 22 nd February 2008. Students who are waiting for their final pre-university results may also apply using forecast results, however processing of applications will be based on the official final results.

Postgraduate Scholarship - University of Otago

University of Otago Dr Sulaiman Daud 125th Jubilee International Postgraduate Scholarship is once again being offered by the university to enable an exceptional postgraduate research student from Malaysia to attend the University. The Scholarship may be held only by a resident from Malaysia who is also not a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand, and who intends to enrol for a full-time PhD or Masters degree at the University of Otago.

Scholarship - PHD by Research (New Zealand)

The New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS) is now open to applicants from around the world until July 17 2006.

A total of 40 scholarships will be made available to students undertaking a PhD research programme at any of the eight New Zealand universities next year. The selection criteria for award of the scholarships is based on academic merit.

The NZIDRS, funded by the New Zealand Government and administered by Education New Zealand, provides full tuition, accommodation and support costs for up to three years for the recipient.
