Supremacy Scholarship Award (Overseas)
This biennial scholarship award is open to all Malaysians who are attending or have obtained confirmed or conditional admission into top-notched universities overseas pursuing their first degree in either Actuarial Science or Information Technology
Value of Award
RM70,000/- per academic year
Tenure of Award
Minimum period required by the recipient to complete the course. Provisional offer of scholarship will be made subject to the confirmation of acceptance by the abovementioned educational institutions.
Conditions of Award
- Award holder must not be bonded to or holding any other scholarship or receiving financial assistance from any other educational institutions / organizations
- Award holder will be required to enter into a 7-year bond with Great Eastern upon completion of his/her course.
Supremacy Local Scholarship Award
This yearly scholarship award is open to all Malaysians who are policyholders or children of policyholders of Great Eastern whose policies have been in force for more than three years to pursue the following first degree courses at any of the recognized local public or private universities:

4. Information Technology
5. Law
6. Mathematics
7. Economics
Value of Awards *
Public University : Maximum RM13,700 per annum for academic fees and living allowance per academic year.
Private University : Maximum RM16,700 per annum for academic fees and living allowance per academic year.

Tenure of Award

Requirements:
Applicants must :
a) be below 21 years of age as of the year of application.
b) possess good academic result in STPM/equivalent and active in sports and extra curricular activities.
c) be able to gain admission to the local public or private universities for approved courses of study. Applicants to be considered from local private universities must have completed their matriculation or the first year in their degree programme.
Provisional offer of scholarship will be made subject to the confirmation of acceptance by the abovementioned educational institutions.
Conditions of Awards
(a) Award holders must not be bonded to or holding any other scholarship or receiving financial assistance from any other institutions or organizations.
(b) Award holders will be required to enter into a 3-year bond with Great Eastern immediately upon successful completion of their course.

Sponsorship to pursue Bachelor Degree (Honours) at foreign universities will be extended subject to meeting the approved criteria.

Minimum Requirements
Fulfilling at least one of the following criteria:
* STPM / A-Level - at least 2 A and 1 B; or
* Diploma / Matriculation - Cumulative Grade Point Aggregate (CGPA) of at least 3.50; or
* Australian Matriculation - TER of at least 85% ; or
* For candidates currently pursuing First Degree - Current CGPA of at least 3.50.
* Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English subjects

* Have confirmed or will be offered a place to pursue a First Degree in 2008 at recognised local or foreign universities

* Obtained a First Class (Honours) Bachelor / Master’s Degree or equivalent from recognised local and foreign universities
* Will pursue courses that will add value to the roles and functions of Bank Negara Malaysia
* Not exceeding 30 years old for Master and 35 years old for PhD.
* Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English subjects
* Have confirmed or will be offered a place to pursue Master’s / Doctorate Degree in 2008 at recognised local or foreign universities
Those who fulfilled the minimum requirements are required to send a written application to Scholarship Section, Bank Negara Malaysia along with these documents:
* Curriculum Vitae / Resume
* Certified copy of Bachelor Degree’s / Master’s Degree’s results
* Letter of recommendation from previous or current university
* One (1) page of Abstract / Executive Summary of your proposed research
Post graduate students who are currently pursuing Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree (PhD) at recognised local or foreign universities are also eligible to apply.

The Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) is pleased to
announce its first competition for grants under the Vijayashanker Foundation Award for
students interested in pursuing an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree in the field of Actuarial Science at a regionally accredited US university in the fall of 2008.
A m ou n t an d P eriod of A w ard
The Vijayashanker Foundation will provide partial tuition scholarship up to two years in the US for this competition. Preference will be given to candidates from American Degree twinning or transfer programs (ADP) at local colleges. This award will only cover the tuition in the US.
Eligibility
To be considered for selection under this program, students shall:
- Possess Malaysian citizenship;
- Be no more than 30 years of age at the time of application;
- Completed at least first semester of second year of ADP;
- Have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.33 during ADP;
- Demonstrate quantitative ability through the ADP program;
- TOEFL and SAT requirements are based on the student’s school of choice. If your university does not require these tests for application, you are NOT required to submit the tests results to MACEE or vice versa.
- Students are not required to be accepted to a US university in order to apply for this scholarship, but students are REQUIRED to apply and be accepted to a US university by May 2008 in order to fully qualify for the award if they are nominated by the committee.
Assistance with university selection and application will be provided by MACEE.
The Following Individuals Are Not Eligible:
- Individuals who are or have already been enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an American university and who seek nomination in order to complete said program.
- Individuals who seek nomination in order to complete a second bachelor’s degree.
Application Procedures
1. Students can download the application form from www.macee.org.my and 5 hard copies of application must be submitted at the below address with the following
documents attached:
- 5 CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES of ADP transcript(s) for all years of academic study.
- 5 CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES of your SPM results.
- 5 CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES of admission offer from US university (if available).
- 5 CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES of TOEFL and SAT score reports (if required by your university for admissions).
- 2 letters of reference (at least one from an ADP professor under whom you have studied). Letter of references must be printed on a letterhead and sealed in an envelope by your referees.
- 1 copy of Counselor Evaluation Form from your ADP coordinator or assistant coordinator. This form must be SEALED in an envelope by your ADP counselor or coordinator.
- 5 photographs attached to the application forms.
- 5 copies of 1 page personal statement on why you need this award, your futuregoals and your expected contributions to the development of Malaysia.
2. The completed application and supporting documents can be sent by mail or hand
delivered to MACEE, but must arrive NO LATER THAN March 28th, 2008, to be
considered. MACEE is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please
contact MACEE for further information.
3. Applications received after said date will not be processed.
4. Students are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to meet an educational advisor at their college
or MACEE for admission information into US Universities.
C ompetition Timetable February 15th, 2008 – March 28th, 2008 Announcement of the competition;
Applicants meet with Commission officers for advice in selecting and applying to
appropriate institutions in the US. At this time period, students should also be
prepared to apply to the schools of their choice.

- The applicant must be a Malaysian citizen below 26 years of age as at 1st January 2008. Employees of ‘SCMCB’/ and participating Colleges/ Universities, their spouse and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.
- Students must possess good results in SPM/ A-Level/ STPM/ UEC or other equivalent qualifications.
- Students must be active in sports and extra-curricular activities.
- Students must not be bonded to or in receipt of any financial aid or rewards from other educational organisations or institutions.
- The applicants must produce original copies of the examination results and all other relevant documents during the interview.
- The selection committee’s decision in all matters pertaining to the selection of the scholarship award is final and no appeal, inquiry or correspondence will be entertained.
- Meet the minimum requirement set by the Colleges/ Universities in order to be qualified for selection.
- Different colleges, universities and courses have different entry requirements. Please liase directly with the colleges or universities concerned for more details.
- The recipient is not to discontinue or switch Course or to take up any full or part time employment while pursuing the said Course without the prior written approval of “SCMCB” or The College/ University concerned unless such employment is part and parcel or related to the said Course
- The recipient is not allowed to participate in any form of illegal activity or join any unlawful organisations which in the opinion of “SCMCB” or The College/ University would embarrass or cause disrepute to all parties concerned throughout the study period.
- The recipient is to attend all classes, lectures, tutorials and lessons as required by the said Course regularly and diligently unless he or she is medically unfit to do so.
- The recipient is required to obey all rules and regulations of the participating College/ University at all time and is expected to conduct himself/herself in a respectable manner.
- The participating College/ University and “SCMCB” are not obligated to extend the award beyond the existing academic period.
- “SCMCB” reserve their right to add or amend the rules and regulations contained herein without prior notice. No complaint whatsoever shall be entertained.
- The awards are not directly offered by “SCMCB” but are offered by the participating educational institutions or other sponsors through “SCMCB” and the recipient may be required to sign a bond directly with the participating Colleges/ Universities if required to do so.

PNB offers scholarships to Bumiputeras who obtain exceptional results in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia to pursue tertiary education at selected foreign universities in disciplines related to the business activity of PNB such as Finance & Investment, Accountancy, Economics, Law, Information Communication Technology and Engineering.
