Malaysian Australian Alumni Council (MACC) Scholarships

Sunday, November 4th, 2007 |

LAUNCHED in October 2001, the Malaysian Australian Alumni Council (MACC) Scholarships build on the spirit of the Colombo Plan, which enabled some 4,000 Malaysians to study in Australia from the early 1950s until the mid-1980s.

The MACC Scholarships take the Colombo Plan a step further by providing for a two-way exchange of scholars between Malaysia and Australia. The scholarships include full or partial waivers of tuition fees and are offered to Malaysian and Australian students to undertake their tertiary education in each other’s countries.

The scholarship is spearheaded by the MAAC, an umbrella organisation for Australian university alumni in Malaysia, and IDP Education Australia Pty Ltd (Malaysia) administrates Australia-bound scholarships.

Application is now open for the 2008 round, with nine participating Australian universities offering various scholarships for Malaysian applicants. For more information, visit www.australia.org.my or call IDP Education at 03-2162-3755.

Budget 2008 - Education

Monday, September 10th, 2007 |

Thank you to the government for providing many good news especially for the education industry. Amongst other interesting highlight during the 2008 budget is on the increases of the Public Services Department from RM5,000 to RM10,000/annum for critical courses and also science courses.

This move will definitely be followed by the Private Company to increase their scholarship value to ensure their scholarship is attractive enough or at least at par of JPA scholarship.
