NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund 08 is now open for application. Closing date for the scholarship programme is on 13th April 2008.
To be eligible for the scholarship programme, applicants must meet the following general requirements :
- Applicants must be Malaysian citizens.
- Applicants must possess good academic results in SPM/‘O’ Level, UEC and/or STPM/‘A’ Level examinations or equivalent.
- Applicants must qualify to gain admission to the participating institution for the relevant course.
- Applicants must be active in sports and/or co-curricular activities.
- Applicants must possess leadership qualities and be self motivated.
- Applicants must be financially deserving.
- Applicants must not already be in receipt of any scholarships, financial aid or award from other educational institutions or organizations.
- Applicants must abide by the terms and conditions of the NST Learning Curve Scholarship Fund.
- Applicants must abide by all other terms and conditions of the awarding institution, including any bond required.

- Memiliki kualiti kepimpinan dan penyertaan yang cemerlang/ aktif dalam ko-kurikulum.
(c) Syarat Tambahan
- Penerima BIASISWA TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN diperlukan berkhidmat untuk negara sekurang-kurangnya lima (5) tahun selepas tamat pengajian yang ditaja.
- Calon yang berjaya hanya ditentukan selepas menerima keputusan penuh Semester Kedua, Tahun Pertama, iaitu apabila sah mendapat PNGK / CGPA melebihi 3.5 untuk Tahun Pertama.

The Diether H. Haenicke Institute for Global Education is pleased to announce the WMU Presidential Alumni Scholarship. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants nominated by WMU alumni for up to four years (eight semesters) or the completion of the first undergraduate degree—whichever occurs first.
Application review for the 2008-2009 academic year will begin March 1, 2008 and end May 1, 2008 or when all scholarships have been awarded.
The WMU Presidential Alumni Scholarship will be awarded based on the criteria below. These scholarships require full-time enrollment (12+ credit hours per semester).

Eligibility Criteria
- First-time undergraduate student at WMU enrolling for Fall 2008, who are nominated by a WMU alumna or alumnus. The nominator’s letter must include their full name, current address, year of their WMU graduation, the degree earned and the name and contact information of the nominee. The nominator’s letter must be submitted to Juan Tavares, WMU senior international admissions counselor, via conventional mail or e-mail at the same time the WMU application is submitted.
- Secondary or transfer school cumulative grade point average of 3.5 (4.0 scale).
- TOEFL score of 500 (173 cbt, 62 ibt) OR IELTS 6.0.
Awards & Maintenance Criteria
- $10,000 for year one and $8,000 per year for up to three years (eight semesters total) or the point which the student earns a first undergraduate degree, whichever occurs first.
- The award will be applied only toward tuition and fees and for the fall and spring semesters (no summer sessions).
- Scholarship recipients must maintain full-time enrollment, satisfactory academic status and earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 while at WMU. Academic histories will be reviewed at the end of each academic year.
- Recipients must also retain their nonresident status.

The Indian government has announced a scholarship programme for the children of persons of Indian origin and non-resident Indians.
The scholarships were offered for undergraduate, professional and general courses in India for the academic year 2008-2009.
However, the scholarships do not apply for medicine and medical-related courses.
The scholarship is 75 per cent of the institutional economic cost, which includes tuition and hostel fees and other charges, or US$3,600 (RM11,500), whichever is lesser.
Applicants must sit a common entrance test, which will held at the high commission on May 18.
Application forms can be downloaded from the Indian High Commission website. The forms must be sent to The Project Manager (SPDC), Educational Consultants India Limited (Ed. CIL), P&S Division Ed. CIL House-18A, Sector-16-A, Noida-201 301, Uttar Pradesh, India, not later than April 4.

The Lions Club of Subang Jaya - FC Yap Scholarship Fund for UTAR under-graduates in memory of our beloved late member, Lion Yap Foo Cheow (Lion FC Yap).Lion FC Yap, a distinguished Lion, was well known for his fondness for youths and for education; and for his compassion for the less fortunate. This Scholarship Fund is to build upon the legacy created by Lion FC Yap, to continue with his works of philanthropy, and to represent a show of solidarity amongst the members of the Club.
The Club’s aim is to advance and improve the quality of life of the less fortunate, especially the youth, directly and indirectly; and to help alleviate their needs and sufferings, in the form of financial assistance for their education.
Two scholarships worth RM9,000 will be given out to deserving UTAR final year students. This is to subsidize the needy and talented students by sponsoring their tuition fees and living expenses.
Criteria To ensure that the most deserving students are selected for the scholarship awards, the following attributes will be considered:

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia is pleased to announce the Taiwan Scholarship Program 2008. This scholarship will allow 9 Malaysians to pursue a Bachelor, Master or Doctoral Degree of their choice at any university in Taiwan starting from September 2008. The award period for each study program varies as follows:
1. Undergraduate program: maximum 4 years, monthly stipends NT$25,000
2. Master’s program: maximum 2 years, monthly stipends NT$30,000
3. Doctoral program: maximum 3 years, monthly stipends NT$30,000
4. All successful scholarship candidates can choose additional pre-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Program (LEP) for 1 year with monthly stipends NT$25,000.
Taiwan Scholarship Program 2008 provides only monthly stipends to scholarship recipients. The costs of tuition, board and lodging, books, medical insurance, airfare to Taiwan and other expenses will be defrayed by themselves. And all candidates must apply to their chosen university in Taiwan for degree program at the same time or apply to university-affiliated Chinese language centers for those who choose additional LEP Program.
Applicants must submit the following documents no later than March 31, 2008 to Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, Address: LEVEL 7, MENARA YAYASAN TUN RAZAK, #200 JALAN BUKIT BINTANG, 55100 KUALA LUMPUR. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.

MAJLIS Amanah Rakyat (MARA) sponsorship is now available to Bumiputera students seeking to study Monash University’s Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme at its Sunway campus in Petaling Jaya.
The sponsorship is under MARA’s Open Application Scheme. Selection of students will be based on their pre-university results, performance in the semi-structured interview as well as the results of an aptitude test.
To meet the requirements, students must first score three principals in the STPM or A-Levels with an “A” in chemistry.
Apart from that, those who score excellent results in other pre-university programmes such as Australian Matriculation, Australian Year 12, Monash University Foundation Year, Canadian Matriculation, Canadian International Matriculation Programme and International Baccalaureate will also be eligible for a sponsorship. Pre-requisite subjects include English or English as a Second Language (ESL) and chemistry.
Students whose pre-university qualifications do not include English or ESL must demonstrate their English language proficiency through the A-level or TOEFL English tests.
Apart from offering sponsorship for medicine, MARA also offers sponsorships for other Monash degree courses including engineering, information technology, business and science.
The sponsorships provided by MARA are interest-free and the repayment amount may be reduced if students achieve excellent results.
