Bank Negara Malaysia Scholarship Award 2012/2013

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) invites suitable Malaysian candidates to apply for its Scholarship Award 2012/2013 as follows :

1. Pre-University
2. Undergraduate
3. Post-graduate

FIELD OF STUDIES:

The field of study as follows :

• Economics
• Accounting
• Actuarial Science
• Banking and Finance
• Financial Engineering
• Law
• Shariah
• Mathematics

1. PRE UNIVERSITY – CAMBRIDGE A-LEVEL, AMERICAN FOUNDATION PROGRAM, SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MATRICULATION

(Application will be available after the SPM 2011 results are announced)

Minimum Requirements

• Passed the 2011 SPM examination with at least 8As (A and A+ only)
• Not exceeding 19 years old of age on 1 July 2012

Additional Requirements

• Good command of the English language, both written and oral
• Flexible, versatile and posses high teamwork capabilities
• Excelled in both extra-curricular activities and sports

Sponsorship to pursue Bachelor Degree (Honours) at foreign universities will be extended subject to meeting the approved criteria.

B. UNDERGRADUATE (HONOURS) – LOCAL AND FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES

( Application is available from 04/03/2012 until 20/03/2012 )

Minimum Requirements

Fulfilling at least one of the following criteria:

STPM / A-Level – at least 2 A and 1 B ; or

• Diploma / Matriculation – Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.50 ; or
• South Australian Matriculation – ATAR of at least 85% ; or
• American Foundation Program – SAT1 score of at least 1200 ; or
• For candidates currently pursuing Undergraduate – Current CGPA of at least 3.50
• Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English subjects
• Not exceeding 25 years of age on 1 July 2012
• Have obtained a place to pursue Undergraduate studies in 2012 from the Bank’s list of approved universities

Additional Requirements

• Good command of the English language, both written and oral
• Flexible, versatile and posses high teamwork capabilities
• Excelled in both extra-curricular activities and sports

Students who are currently pursuing Undergraduate (Honours) at recognised local and foreign universities are also eligible to apply.

C. POSTGRADUATE (MASTER AND PHD) – (LOCAL and FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES)

(Application is available from 03/03/2012 until 20/03/2012

• Monetary Economics
• International Economics
• Banking and Finance
• International Finance
• Quantitative Finance
• Law
• Banking and Finance Law
• International Law
• Shariah
• Risk Management
• Forensic Accounting

Minimum Requirements

• Obtained a First Class (Honours) Bachelor / Master’s Degree from recognised local and foreign universities
• Will pursue courses that will add value to the roles and functions of Bank Negara Malaysia
• Not exceeding 30 years old for Master and 35 years old for PhD on 1 July 2012
• Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English subjects
• Have obtained a place to pursue postgraduate studies in 2012 from the Bank’s list of approved universities

Postgraduate students who are currently pursuing Master’s or PhD at recognised local or foreign universities (within the Bank’s list of approved universities) are also eligible to apply.

• Certified copy of Bachelor/Master degree results
• Letter of recommendation from previous/ current university (for postgraduate application only)
• One (1) page of Abstract / Executive Summary of your proposed research (for postgraduate application only)
