All “Bumiputera” are invited to apply for Tawaran Pinjaman Pelajaran MARA Bagi Mengikuti Pengajian Di Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Terkemuka Luar Negara Sesi 2009/2010 Di Bawah Skim Pelajar Cemerlang.
This offer is open to those who want to pursue approved bachelor degree,master degree,PhD. courses at top overseas universities for admission from July 2009 – Februari 2010.
The closing date for application is on 23 January 2009.

guys,
there are reason why MARA yet to release the advert for this year SPC…
based on my knowlegde about SPC last year, usually the advertisement or more specific the minimum requirement for SPC is depends on the goverment budget allocate to MARA…sometime the budget has been used in “other” places..which mean MARA need to request a new budget and thats why the delay came from…
My advice, try getting unconditional offer from top university approved by MARA. you can request the list from MARA office…

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate your info. I am desperately wanted to pursue soon after i completed my master degree in Jun 2010. Im currently waiting for the unconditional offer letter from univ in UK which I will received in few days. Ive tried to contact with MARA office but they said that so far they have put things on ‘hold’. So, as you suggested, should i just submit the offer letter to the MARA office?

Hi Rainbow,
as latest news if received from someone in Mara (unconfirm), there are possibility that further study to UK is no longer an option. My suggestion is that you have a backup university beside from UK thats in Mara’s approved list.
Rainbow, you must complete your degree before applying for SPC. Mara always wanted to see your final CGPA before applying for SPC.
My advice, be patient. Do start collecting information about university at UK so you dont make wrong choice.

Hi Abd,
I much appreciate your kind advice and speedy respond. I really get frustrated because yesterday, I called MARA office and the admin (bhgn Penganjuran) told me that there will no SPC program offered for Dip,Master,PhD for this year. No allocation but only will apply for SPM leavers..Oohh I don’t know where else should I seek for scholar..Since I have tried to contact most IPTA in Malaysia and they also came with the same answers “this yr MOHE has cut the budget and no more going abroad for Master/PhD”..I already got a place in Sheffield and Newcastle..but I don’t have the funding…I really eager to further but no one could understand my enthusiasm towards my PhD study..Any ideas Abd or anyone?

I really want to pursue my studies in master as soon as i graduate, which will be this may.right now im applying for some universities in UK. im currently in US for undergraduate, under MARA.not that i dont like US, it’s just that i want to obtain master’s degree quicker and oh, new environment too..
this news really disappoint me..are all the scholarship in malaysia are currently cutting their budget? because i heard similar stories coming from other agencies too..

A total shocker. I called MARA and ask about the other program they have. That is out as well. Why does it has to happen this year? I have a place in Manchester and right now in a limbo as where to get funding from.

Well,its gonna be the ‘unlucky year’ for us..I don’t know why they have to cut down the budget (which is too much) but I do sure this is such a pain in the a***..I also got the info that some agencies in IPTA prefer to send the staff to china/south korea/india or any Asian countries because its far more cheaper! hmmm and if MARA have some budget..I guess let’s try to browse for univ in Asia then ;p

This is very, very disappointing knowing that MARA will not offering any scholarship under SPC this year except for SPM leavers
Im a diploma leavers and pursuing my undergraduate program in Naval Architecture and things like this happen then. feeling a bit unlucky.It’s nearly end of February just forget about MARA scholarship/loan.
